About...

Mark and I have been involved in Flat-Coated Retrievers for more than 30 years. We live 12 miles from scenic Clearlake, California, where our dogs have clean air and water, and plenty of room to run. Mark and I met through our dogs, when he started showing Ebony, his first Flat-Coated Retriever. We have a young son.

We enjoy showing dogs as a family and also participate in some performance events. Mark is an avid hunter and fisherman, and hunts for upland birds and waterfowl with our dogs. I have an education and background in animal health and business, and am the AKC Best Friends school program canine ambassador  for the Lake County Kennel Club of Northern California. I also teach puppy pre-school. Mark and I are both FCRSA members and I was the Show Chair for the 2004 FCRSA National Specialty in Vallejo, California.

About the Dogs
All of our dogs are pets and family companions who spend a lot of time in the house. They are all typically active and happy-go-lucky Flat-Coats, but are calm inside and can be trusted with Sean, whether he's eating or playing with toys. The dogs like to play ball with Sean and a few have become great babysitters.

Our dogs love to go to shows and dog classes and really enjoy training. Puppies are raised in the house and Sean is a big help in socializing them. We have a large puppy yard that contains a "puppy jungle gym," so they can gain early confidence. We spend a lot of time with all of our puppies and play music for them. They are socialized with kids, cats and horses. Before they are sent to good homes, I vaccinate and worm all of our puppies, and our vet microchips them.

Breeding Plans
We are expecting litters in August 2010. Sparkles has been bred to Linda Crowson's Ande and Lemur has been bred to Flash.
