Jun. 11th, 2007 - FCRSA National Specialty

We attended the flat-coat National Specialty show in Rochester, Minnesota. It was a three day drive with four dogs, two adults and a child! We had a great time. Dragon was our big winner with a first place in the 11 and older veteran dogs sweepstakes class, a second place in the regular veterans class and was awarded a huge rosezette for being the oldest male dog in the show. We enjoyed all the events and socializing with friends and family. Sean made a new friend, Carter, from New York and spent a lot of time in the hotel pool. Now we are planning next years specialty in Oregon.

Sep. 12th, 2006 - A sad summer at Applegarth

We are saddened by the loss of several family member this summer. In June, we lost Iggy, my 17 year old cat. She had been my mothers pet and I inherited her. she was wonderful with puppies.

In July we lost 12 year old Ebony. Marks first FCR and hunting buddy. Her loss has hit hard.

In August we lost 8 year old Odin, Ebony's, son to cancer. He had no signs of illness and we are devistated by the sudden loss. Odin was a great duck dog and companion. We hope Odin'e son Flash will follow in his father's paw prints.

Mar. 1st, 2006 - Uther is a therapy dog

Uther Pendragon became a certified therapy dog. He visited Meadowood Nursing Home and was a complete gentleman with the elderly patients and staff. He also visited Sean's kindergarten class for his final exam. He loved the kids and his great flat-coat temperament shone brightest surrounded by small children. Uther will be working with kids in the future.

Jan. 31st, 2005 - Golden Gate Kennel Club Benched Show

Seniors rule in San Francisco!!!

It was veterans weekend at the Cow Palace. The new format changed from one show held over two days, just like Westminster, to two shows in two days. We had 8:30 am ring times BOTH days so we were there for 10 hours each day. On Saturday, Carl Liepmann judged and he gave BOB to my almost 10 year old dog Dragon!! This was my 24th. year at GGKC and my first BOB win in flat-coats. I've won the breed there with Norwich terriers and curly coated retrievers in the past but this win was extra special for me as Dragon is my heart dog, the best buddy I've ever had. Him being the one to break the curse will be a cherished memory for the rest of my life! Dragon sure got some extra special lovin' in the hotel Saturday night;0)) and lots of kisses and cuddles.

Not to be outdone, Sundays judge was Erik Bergishagen and he gave BOB to my husband and his going on 11 year old bitch Ebony!! The field rep. was at ring side and made a comment that the oldest dog acted like a puppy. Ebony was lovely in the ring, not looking her age and always wagging her tail.

Wow, what a weekend. I'm still flying and so proud of my special boy. I love showing Dragon, he is part of my soul.
